Passover/Easter

Nevel and Hazel Hillier invited us, along with the Langelands, to share Passover with their family. Hazel is a Jewish convert and an excellent cook, both of which made the evening delightful. Understanding the symbols and traditions of the Passover brings light to the last supper and the sacrament.

The Uniting Church on Albert Street holds a "Messiah" sing in the Sunday before Easter. We went with

Alan and Helen Tibbets to the rehearsal and performance with

soloists and a fabulous conductor.

It has been fun to try some new fruits to go with all the new adventures. This is a dragon

fruit. It was crunchy but without much flavor. It would be fun to serve in a fruit salad because

of the fun color.

This is a custard apple. It tastes

like custard, but looks nothing like an apple. The trees flower, but not all the blossoms turn into fruit.

This is probably why they are so

expensive - $6.

Noosa Heads

Never let it be said that we give up easily. After four weeks of rainy P-days, we finally got a beautiful sunny day. We headed back to Noosa to finish the walk that ended in the monsoon. The walk along the cliffs is 5.4 K and takes about two hours round trip. We saw some beautiful things along the way including this flower that looks like a tiny poinsettia, but the red is part of the green leaf.


The trail ends at "Hell's Gate". The view is spectacular, but the beach is dangerous with some killer waves. When you look down from the point, the surf is all rocks and

foam.

We then drove down to Caloundra and our favorite Shelly Beach. We broke out the camp chairs and watched the waves roll in. As the sun got lower in the west, the wind came to blow the sea foam balls along the sand.

It was a perfectly BEAUTIFUL day!
